Christina, I have a little bit of a different perspective than Ellen. You can like sex and flirting, and still be demisexual. What you call sexual ethics is a form of demisexuality. The key is that people who are demisexual require more than just a physical attraction to hop into bed with someone. They also need a personal connection on an emotional or spiritual level. That sounds like you. And it certainly describes me. Your speculation that being asexual and demisexual may be in conflict is often true. Many people who identify as asexual are also demisexual, but the one does not necessarily imply the other. I think you understand yourself just fine.
