I am a Swarthmore alumna. I was a freshman when the bombing campaign in Cambodia was undertaken by Nixon. All of my professors went out on the strike halfway through the spring semester. To say the end of my first year was chaotic would be an understatement. Swarthmore was founded by Quakers, who have always had a pacifist approach towards world affairs. If you were promoting a pro Russian point view during your debate, I am amazed that the student body did not strongly object to your position. It is not clear what you said except by inference looking at the links you provided. If you were a Russian apologist, I would have laughed you out of the room.
