I am sorry for your all too common experience, but is your problem with the standards of Christianity or the sense of superiority of the groups you later associated with? The Jesus I know was a humble person who loved and accepted all. The fact that yet another group of adherents has distorted the message in an effort to feel superior does not in my opinion negate the truth of all that is best in Christianity.
