I certainly don’t disagree with anything you said. To tell you where I am spiritually, my first college degree was in philosophy and religion. I later got a degree in ministry from the Episcopal diocese of Southwest Florida. I have been a Christian my whole life and spent 30 years in prison ministry working with inmates in medium and max prisons. I later started a construction company to put them to work when they got out so that they could make a decent living. I have always been dedicated to Micah 6:8 and Matthew 25 ministries. I get it.

I have said this elsewhere, but a very good friend of mine, who was a Catholic priest, used to carry around business cards with the summary of the Bible on it. What did he write? Three simple words. “Love. No buts…” No judgment, no condemnation, no sanctimoniousness, no self righteousness, no sense of superiority. Simply no qualifications whatsoever. Just pure unadulterated love. As he liked to say, get that right and you understand 99% of the Bible. Then we can discuss the one percent of non essential incidentals. He got it exactly right.

I don’t know what modern-day Evangelicals are exactly. They are very different than the ones that I used to minister with. But whatever they are, they do not resemble authentic Christians in the slightest.

Eclectic trans woman, terminally curious. Too many degrees. Trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. Attract stray puppies and social outcasts
