It is easy, when you spend too much time in the cesspool that Twitter (now X) has become, or in the blogosphere listening to the hate mongers and bigots, to think that the whole world is against us. In my experience, most people are kind and courteous and curious. The most corrosive attitudes are promoted by a small number of people with the loudest voices. It is a simple matter of economics. It generates clicks, notoriety and personal wealth. The real world is not like that. People are actually a lot kinder, more supportive and understanding than one would think by using Social media as the yardstick. I try to limit my exposure to maintain perspective.
