Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, it does. It seems like it will never end. I feel like it’s the 1930s and I’m living in Nazi Germany. Like many, I thought these hyper reactionary attitudes were held by a vocal conservative minority not exerting any real influence, kind of like QAnon, a fringe group of no real import. Now the danger signals are evident everywhere. The first line of defense in the lower courts and courts of appeal will probably hold. But I have serious concerns at to what will happen with the Supreme Court. Short of federal legislation, I’m not sure what can be done to reverse the impending tsunami of legalized hatred, short of a blue wave rising among the populace in reaction to the appalling hateful legislation being adopted by too many states. It is all very discouraging.
