Maybe it is because I have not been out as trans as long as you, but I find your experience both appalling and disappointing. My major surgeries were done in San Francisco, so I spent months there last year. The people I met were the most welcoming group that I could possibly imagine. It seems like everywhere I went I saw people who were trans. It was the most diverse social environment I have ever encountered. Ironically, living in the deep red state of Florida run by our fascist in chief who is trying to out Trump Trump, I have not run into anyone who has been critical of me. The worst I have encountered are people quietly slinking away who are disapproving. No one has ever said anything directly to my face and I have encountered a lot more loving and accepting people than I could possibly have imagined.

Eclectic trans woman, terminally curious. Too many degrees. Trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. Attract stray puppies and social outcasts
