Obviously, there’s no way to convince you, so there is no point in continuing this discussion. You blindly accept a flawed book as somehow being an inerrant blueprint for human behavior. that is the basic problem. Your talking about revisionist history just reflects the fact that you do not like that there are groups that Christians find inconvenient. As to taxes, you resent helping the less fortunate? Of course you do. I spent over 30 years working with prisoners in Medium and Max prisons. I started a construction company to put them to work when they got out and took nothing for myself. I feed the homeless and comfort the afflicted. I have taken many people in to live in my house who were down on their luck, I have dedicated my life to Matthew 25 service. You know nothing about me. You latch onto my identity and that is enough for you. It reflects nothing about my belief, education and understanding. It is simply the way that God created me. I know you don’t believe it, but I’m sure you are scientifically ignorant as well. I have engaged in ecumenical ministry my whole life. I have witnessed miracles and the life changing impact of the true message of love in the gospels.

My whole approach to life is summarized in the Servant Song.

Brother, let me be your servant
Let me be as Christ to you
Pray that I may have the grace
to let you be my servant too

We are pilgrims on a journey
We are travelers on the road
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load

I will weep when you are weeping
When you laugh, I will laugh with you
I will share your joys and sorrows
Until we’ve seen this journey through

I will hold the Christ light to you
In the night time of your fear
I will hold my hand out to you
Speak the peace you long to hear

When we sing to God in heaven
We shall find such harmony
Born of all the joys and sorrows
Of Christ’s love and agony

Sister, let me be your servant …

That is the true message of the gospel. Using it as a club to condemn other peoples’ behavior, and threaten them with eternal damnation is anathema to God. Christ, would weep at your attitude.
