Paul Walker wrote an article today (When Did Christianity Become So Angry and Filled with Rage?” by Paul Walker
https://link.medium.com/oekrYvUnJAb) which illustrates the difference between angry evangelicals and true Christians. Lumping them together because they share a similar label or stated allegiance is disingenuous in my opinion. That is why I wrote my original response to David Gamble. I was trying to point out the difference. The Christianity I know is built around love, tolerance, compassion, empathy, and any other number of other higher human ideals. The judgmental legalistic self-aggrandizing version presented by evangelicals I believe to be inauthentic. Certainly had their view been the basis of Christianity through the millennia, it would have died out centuries ago and be remembered as a quaint little angry sect of insignificant historical relevance. The fact that it has been so durable is because its positive and higher messages resonate with all people.
