The hard wiring is what allows for the software to develop. You just don’t get it. There is an objective sense of identity and a subjective sense of identity. The objective sense is fixed. It is hardwired. It is when you apply it to events in the real world that subjective conclusions are drawn, but they are based upon the objective hardwired identity.

It is much like a computer which has fixed elements. It only accomplishes something when you provide input. How the input is processed depends upon how the computer is programmed. That programming is fixed. The analogy is pretty apropos.
