The history of Finland vis a vis Russian aggression is impressive. As Russia is finding out in Ukraine, when you attack a peaceful neighbor with a strong sense of national pride, their will to resist cannot be under estimated. Most of the Russian military is clearly unmotivated to pursue the war in Ukraine at their own personal expense. That is not the case when your own country is being threatened and invaded. It just strengthens the resolve of the population of the country being invaded to resist.
