There is no negativity, nor is none implied. What you view as negativity is merely my attempt to provide different perspectives to your worldview and experiences. I only educate. I don’t criticize. To acknowledge that there are problems in the transgender community is to state the obvious. Everything is not rainbows and unicorns. You already know this to a degree. As time goes on, I suspect you will find that even those who claim to be part of the community not always are. They adopt being Trans as a way to deal with very different problems. Helping these individuals sort things out is in their best interest. That is why certain psychologists are investigating this carefully with specific subgroups.

At the end of the day, it is all about good medical care for those of us who have a very rare condition. Part of providing good care is to make the correct diagnosis. Elsewhere you use the 2% number. What you are referring to is the rate of transition regret by those who had GAS. I am in total agreement with the low level and believe it is even lower because many who detransition do so due to family or social pressures. The goal of the elaborate presurgical requirements is to differentiate those who are not really trans as well as identifying the level of medical/surgical intervention needed by those who are. This takes time. The numbers for those who ultimately desist appear to be much higher. Individuals do not always fall into the statistical categories available because the research that has been done is focused on success rates of actual care provided. To my knowledge it has not considered those who ultimately were not part of the trans population. They have not been tallied because they never really “transitioned”. They experimented with an identity and then went back to the way they were. They are invisible to the scientific community for statistical purposes. The field is very much in flux.
