Trump’s support for Ukraine is tepid at best. When asked whether he wanted Ukraine or Russia to win the war by a voter in New Hampshire, he replied that he just wanted the killing to stop. He also suggested that Europe was not doing enough to support Ukraine. This is similar to his attempt to weaken NATO when he was president. Trump has a great deal of respect for Putin, and refuses to describe him as a war criminal in spite of the indictment by the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Putin has every reason to believe that Trump would put pressure on Ukraine to make concessions and try to cut back military aid. Recently, he suggested that aid to Ukraine should be suspended until the Biden administration is investigated for corruption. Trump cares nothing about Ukraine. Putin realizes he is a useful idiot who will make it easier for him to pursue his genocidal agenda and will pressure Ukraine to make territorial concessions if he is reelected. That is hardly what I would call someone who is supportive of Ukraine.
