As a trans woman who has remained a devout Christian in spite of the abuse, rejection and condemnation I received when I revealed my true identity, love, compassion, acceptance, forgiveness and the other highest ideals of humankind remain the essence of our relationship with God. A true belief system will stand up to any attack or any scrutiny. It is the very truth of the purest ideals of Christianity which has made it so durable for thousands of years. I see no sign that those principles are being rejected by modern society, just the distorted ugly thing it has become in Evangelical circles which does not in the slightest resemble the life, ministry and principles of Jesus.
