What you and many commentators miss is that the Ukrainian conflict is not solely about resources, power and money on either side or for that matter aligned third-party countries such as the US and European Union. One of the guiding principles of American democracy is to treasure freedom and self determination by all people. We are defending Ukraine’s right to determine its own course without having a brutal and autocratic system imposed upon them which hurts the quality of life for its citizens. Don’t forget the higher guiding principles.
