Your bias is showing. Conservative viewpoints are not being canceled and I applaud the efforts to examine the detransition phenomenon which appears to be very minor. Research paper after research paper has concluded that 97% of the people who transition never have any regrets. Of the few who do, they deserve our understanding and care and more research needs to be done and provisions need to be made to make sure that they get the care they need.

The problem is that the most demonized group in this country at the moment is transgender people. They are continuously attacked. More and more oppressive laws are being passed to take away their healthcare and their rights. Enough already. The outrage expressed by the New York Times letter writers was not misplaced. It reflected the reality that is still all too common even in the New York Times news room. There is a reason that many of its staff would not tolerate allowing continued unspoken bias.

The right continuously propagates lies, such as grooming and rape by transgender women in women’s bathrooms. These and other fictions are used to constantly stir up their base. They are the ones distorting the facts. All transgender people ask is to be heard. Apparently you, like too many others, are unwilling to do that. Who is actually being canceled? It is not the shrill voices of the conservative right with their uneducated and intolerant bigotry. Too many people listen to their nonsense, and everyone knows that Fox News lies. Indeed it was the defense used in the lawsuit by Dominion against Fox News. And what was that defense? Everyone knows that what Tucker Carlson says is a fabrication. Therefore there can be no defamation. Huh? Really? It is time to return to objective analysis. It is impossible to reason with people who are close minded.
