Your criticism of Biden is for the most part unjustified. For years, Congress has been immobilized in terms of any meaningful action on immigration reform. As a result, most of the current standards have been set by the courts after challenges to various policies. Since he took office, Biden has attempted to enact a coherent immigration policy through executive order. In the first two years of his presidency, he issued 407 of them regarding immigration policy, almost the same number, as Trump did in his four years. Their approaches are very different. Much of Biden’s agenda has been thwarted by court challenges brought by states and Republican members of Congress. His perceived inaction is not for lack of trying. There is a huge philosophical gulf between the strict policies sought by Trump and his ilk and the more compassionate approach of Biden. Blaming him for the mess is to let Congress off the hook. It is their inaction on both sides, amplified by Republican obstructionism that has created the crisis, not perceived weakness by Biden himself. He has tried. Give the man some credit.
