Yours is the first article that I have seen which equates the Dobbs decision with a return to state rights with regard to slavery. The analogy is so apropos, I am surprised that others have not seen it. For the US Supreme Court to give each individual state the power to determine (or limit) the rights and privileges of any group of its people is to fundamentally deny equal protection to groups of citizens of the United States under the Constitution. We cannot have a country where rights and status are determined on an individual state basis. The standard has to be national. Why is this so difficult to understand?
